Scottish Football Association

The Scottish Football Association ( SFA ) is the leading association football in Scotland.

History

The SFA was established on March 21, 1873 pursuant to a meeting in Dewar 's Hotel in Glasgow, which took place a week before. The eight founding clubs were:

  • 3rd Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers
  • Clydesdale FC
  • FC Dumbreck
  • FC Eastern
  • Granville FC
  • FC Kilmarnock
  • FC Queen's Park
  • FC Vale of Leven
