Seinsfeld

Seinsfeld is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kyllburg.

Geography

Location

Seinsfeld located in the South Eifel, 5 km north-east of Wilsecker and 27 km southwest of Daun. Neighboring municipalities are the local churches Steinborn in the northwest, Kyllburgweiler in the west and Oberkail in the southeast.

To Seinsfeld includes the residential places Seinsfeld castle, forest house Seinsfeld, Hubertushof, Kohnenhof, Schwick Erather yard, Waldhof, Ziereshof and Am Hubertus Cross.

Climate

The annual precipitation is 850 mm. The deposits are located in the upper third of the detected values in Germany. At 72% of the stations of the German Weather Service lower values are registered. The driest month is February, the most rainfall comes in November. In November, falling 1.4 times more precipitation than in February. Precipitation varies only slightly and are distributed extremely evenly throughout the year. At only 4% of the monitoring stations, lower seasonal swings are recorded.

Parish council

The local council in Seinsfeld consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Attractions

North of the town is the castle Seinsfeld, one resulting in the late medieval lowland castle.
