Balesfeld

Bales field in the countryside " Kyllburger Waldeifel " is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kyllburg.

Geography

Bales field is located in the landscape " envy Bacher sandstone plateau ", which is part of the East Eifel. The municipality also includes the two north of the main town lying residential places " court " and "New Pond ".

History

The Kyllburger Waldeifel was settled early. Thus, the Roman road Trier- Cologne was on the heights between envy Bach and Bales field. She is still identifiable on the ground and on topographic maps.

Bales field was mentioned in 893 in Prüm land register for the first time as " Baldenshart ". The first two syllables of the name goes back to the person's name Baldin; the last syllable " hardt " means mountain forest.

Until 1576 Bales field belonged to the territory of the Prüm Abbey. The Elector of Trier James III. von Eltz took over the Prüm territory, the place was wonderfully since country until the end of the 18th century to the Electorate of Trier and Schultheißerei Seffern within the Office Prüm.

In 1794, French revolutionary troops had occupied the left bank of the Rhine. Under the French administration Balesfeld 1798 was assigned to the Canton Wilsecker that belonged to the Prüm district in Saarland Department. Bales field belonged to the Mairie Burbach.

Due to the decisions on the Congress of Vienna, the region came in 1815 with the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration Bales field belonged to the mayor's Burbach in 1816 the newly formed district of Prüm of the governmental district of Trier.
