Zendscheid

Zendscheid in the Eifel is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kyllburg. Zendscheid is a nationally recognized resort.

Geography

Zendscheid is located on the Kyll and shares with Usch a station on the railway line Trier- Cologne. To Zendscheid includes the living space Fried Büsch.

History

The place was in 1036 as " Cinsceith " (according to other sources " Einsceith " ) first mentioned.

By the end of the 18th century the village belonged to the Official Wilsecker in the Electorate of Trier. After the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine (1794 ) and the acquisition of the French administrative structures (1798 ) belonged to the Mairie Zendscheid Mürlenbach in Canton Wilsecker that belonged administratively to the Prüm district in Saarland Department.

Following decisions at the Vienna Congress in 1815, the region came to the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration was Zendscheid from 1816 to the mayoralty Mürlenbach in the newly built district of Bitburg in the Trier region.
