Seloi Malere

Seloi Painting ( Painting ) is an East Timorese Suco in the subdistrict Aileu (District Aileu ). He was also affiliated to the Suco Hurairaco after the independence of East Timor.

Geography

The Suco Seloi Painting is located in the north of the sub-district Aileu and has an area of 13.00 km ². To the northwest lies the Suco Seloi Craic, east of the Suco Aissirimou, southeast of the Suco Fahiria and south of the Suco Liurai. At the border in the southeast of the river Mumdonihun that belongs to the system of the Northern Laclos flows.

Along the eastern border of the overland road runs to Dili, which leads from the village Aileu, the district capital in the southeast of Seloi Painting, continue to Maubisse and to the south coast of Timor. Part of the city Aileu are the places Painting, Ercolobere and Kabasfatin ( Cabas Fatin ). To the northeast lies the village of Quinta de Portugal ( Quinta Portugal). The city Aileu has a primary school ( Escola Primaria No. 1), a präsekundäre school, a secondary school, a helipad, a police station and a community health center. In Quinta de Portugal, there is a primary school.

In Suco are the six aldeias Cotbauru, Hularema, Kabasfatin, Painting, Maurusa and Taratihi.

Population

In Suco live 3,576 inhabitants (2010, 2004: 2,460 ). Seloi Painting has the status of an urban Sucos. About 97 % of the population give Tetum Prasa as their native language. Less than 2 % speak Mambai.

History

In Aileu there was the end of 1979 an Indonesian camp for East Timorese should be relocated for better control of the occupiers.

Beginning of September 1999 destroyed during the crisis in East Timor militia members of the AHI ( Aku Hidup dengan Integrasi / Indonesia) systematically more Sucos in Aileu, including Seloi Painting on September 6. Houses were burned and killed the livestock.

Policy

In the elections of 2004/2005 was elected Fernando de Jesus Morão to Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections, Jacinto Dias Ribeiro won.
