Serbia national ice hockey team
The Serbian national ice hockey team of men led after the World Cup 2012 in the IIHF World Ranking at number 31 and played in the World Cup 2011 in the Division II national team, which is organized by the Serbian Hockey Association, is the official successor of the following Montenegro's independence in 2006 resolved Serbian- Montenegrin national ice hockey team, which had previously replaced the Yugoslav national team.
In 2006, the last time a Serbian- Montenegrin national team at a World Ice Hockey Championships in part, since 2007, takes the team for Serbia at World Championships at. A national team of Montenegro has not yet been reported.
At the first World Cup appearance in 2007 the Serbian team finished in fourth place in Group A of Division II, at the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2008, the team was able to improve this result even for a place. 2009 the Serbs succeeded in their own country, the victory in the Division II marking the first time the team rose to the second-class Division I. The key was a 5-4 success after a penalty shootout in the first game against the top favorites Estonia. However, they suffered relegation in 2010 post.
