Sergey Shubenkov

Sergei Vladimirovich Schubenkow (Russian: Сергей Владимирович Шубенков, English transcription Sergey Vladimirovitch Shubenkov, . Born 10 October 1990) is a Russian athlete who specializes in the 110- meter hurdles.

Schubenkow occurred internationally for the first time at the 2009 European Athletics Junior Championships in Novi Sad in appearance, when he won the silver medal in the 110- meter hurdles. In 2010, he was fourth on 60 meter hurdles at the Russian Indoor Championships and third parties about 110 meters hurdles at the Russian Championships in the open.

Schubenkow won the gold medal in the 110- meter hurdles at the U23 European Athletics Championships 2011 in Ostrava. In the same year he took part in the World Athletics Championships in Daegu, however, already retired from the lead.

2012 improved Schubenkow the Russian record over 110 meters hurdles in Hérouville -Saint -Clair in 13.18 seconds and thus beat the old record by Konstantin Shabanov by 17 hundredths of a second. His biggest international success until then celebrated Schubenkow short time later with the title at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki. After he had increased his best performance in the semifinals on 13.09 seconds, it ranged in the final 13.16 seconds for the victory ahead of France's Garfield Darien and Poland Artur Noga. At the Olympic Games in London Schubenkow reached the semifinal round.

In February 2013 Schubenkow Russian champion in the 60 meter hurdles was. Two weeks later, he won over the same distance at the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg and sat down with a time of 7.49 seconds in the meantime to the top of the annual global leaderboard.
