Silkeborg Municipality

Silkeborg Kommune is a Danish municipality in Jutland. It was created on 1 January 2007 as part of local government reform by combining the "old" Silkeborg municipality with the former municipalities Gjern, Kjellerup and Them.

Silkeborg municipality has a total population of 89 346 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013 ) and an area of ​​850.30 km ². It is part of Jutland region. The seat of government is in Silkeborg.
