The Stadelhorn is with 2286 m the highest summit and at the same time striking the rider Alm He is right on the border between Bavaria and Salzburg.

The Stadelhorn is a somewhat exposed hiking summit. The summit panorama extends from the lower mountain, the high Cold and watzmann over the Leogang Mountains and Lofer Steinberg mountains to Sunday Horn as well as in large parts of the Lower Saalachtals. In addition, the Stadelhorn on a clear day offers views of the Great Tide Pool to the east over the Dachstein and the Hohe Tauern with Grossglockner and GROßVENEDIGER to the Zugspitze in the West. At the foot of Stadel horn located on the Austrian side of St. Martin b. Lofer, Lofer and the municipality of toads, on the Bavarian side the Klausbachtal and Hintersee.

The normal route to Stadelhorn via west ridge begins in the Mayrberg Charter ( 2055 m). Thither are various pick-up points.

Direct Access steps:

  • On the Lofer riser from the Austrian side,
  • Over the Schaflsteig of the Bavarian side ( Engert- Alm ).

Access paths on the Roßkarscharte and the upper Wagendrischelkar:

  • Of the New Traunstein hut by the Roßgasse or Steinberggasse,
  • From Hintersee over the Böselsteig.

Unlike its eastern neighbor peaks, the Great Mühlsturzhorn, the Stadelhorn has little to offer climbs, but already requires the increase even head for heights and sure-footedness. Only one sport climbing in the south-west wall is celebrated more often.
