Stjørdal? / I is a Norwegian municipality in Nord-Trøndelag. It was formed in 1962 from the former municipalities Stjørdalshalsen, Skatval, Hegra and Lanke. On 1 June 1997 the municipality became a city. On its territory lies the Trondheim Airport, which is in Norway in flight movements in third place.

The town lies at the mouth of the river Stjørdalselva whose valley extends from there towards the east to Sweden, in the Trondheim Fjord. The name Stjørdal also referred to the valley, but in Norwegian with an attached article as Stjørdalen.

Stjørdal formerly belonged to Stjórdælafylki and thus in the old district of the Frosta Thing Things.
