Stock Car Brasil

Stock Car Brasil (also Campeonato Brasileiro de Stock Car ) is a Brazilian auto racing series, which will be held on a circuit with a solid track.

History

The first race was held at the Autódromo de Tarumã in Rio Grande do Sul with 19 vehicles on 22 April 1979. The race was won by Affonso Giaffone. Champion Paulo Gomes.

1982 was held for the first time a race outside of Brazil, namely at the Circuito do Estoril in Portugal.

From 1979 to 2007 was the Pirelli tire supplier for the series. Since 2008, Goodyear supplies tires.

Rules

Rolling stock

Even if the vehicles are referred to as stock cars, they focus more on the touring cars, as used in the V8 Supercar. Since 1979 launch drivers and vehicles in classes Stock Car V8 and V8 Stock Car Stock Car light and Junior. There are very detailed specifications of the vehicles for these classes.

Since 2010, ethanol instead of gasoline is required as fuel. In addition, the engines have since electronic fuel injection instead of a carburetor.

Points system

Super Final

At the end of season ten best drivers are for the " Super Final" qualified. Within this framework, four final races will take place with its own points system. The points acquired in these races will be credited in the Championship table and thus determines the champion.

Stretch

The races usually take place on the track. 2009 was held for the first time a race on a street circuit ( Salvador Street Circuit ).
