Sven Ulrey in 2010
Sven Ulrey ( born August 3, 1988 in Schorndorf ) is a German footballer who is active at VfB Stuttgart since 1998. He plays the position of goalkeeper.
Career
Amateur
As a child, played Ulrey at the beginning of the TSV light forest and the TSV Schornbach. In the e- Youth of the Schwabe moved to VfB Stuttgart after he was discovered on a Sichtungstag of the association. He was German with VfB A Youth Champion 2005. In the season 2005/06 Ulrey then suffered a serious shoulder injury that temporarily threatened the continuation of his career. After a year, but the injury was healed and Ulrey came back into use. In March 2007, the A- youth player was on matchday 22 of the Regionalliga Süd his debut for the second team of VfB Stuttgart and became a regular player of the Regional team.
Ulrey played for the German U -16 and U-19 national team.
Professional
After 29 games for the Regional team of VfB where Ulrey conceded only 23 goals, he was appointed as successor to the SC Freiburg exchanged Michael Langer of head coach Armin Veh in the first team of VfB Stuttgart in January 2008. Ulrey signed a license dated to 2011 player contract at VfB.
9th February 2008 Ulrey got back on the second round game against on the playing at this time except its shape Raphael Schäfer preference and gave the home match against Hertha BSC his Bundesliga debut. After ten league games in a row Ulrey was again displaced by Shepherd. After Ulrey took the suspended Jens Lehmann at the end of the first round and the beginning of the season 2009/10, decided VfB coach Christian Gross that Ulrey indelible substitute goalkeeper for the first team after the expiration of Lehmann's lock in the second half.
On April 6, 2010 Ulrey extended his contract at VfB prematurely by end of June 2013.
After the retirement of Jens Lehmann in May 2010 Ulrey was the 2010/11 season, the new goalkeeper at VfB. In the second leg of the sixteenth finals of the Europa League in February 2011 against Benfica Ulrey was in the starting lineup replaced by Marc Ziegler. After Ziegler injured in this game, Ulrey regained his place and reached the first round VfB after twelve points in the second half of 2010/11 a further 30 points. During the winter break of 2011/12 Ulrey led after 17 games at both the grade ranking of the kicker sports magazine as well as the grade ranking of Sport website sportal.de note as best Bundesliga goalkeeper. In January 2012 Ulrey extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until the end of June 2017.
National
Ulrey played for DFB youth teams in age groups U -16 and U-19, for the U- 19 Football Championship in 2007 remained Ulrey behind Martin Männel and Ralf ferryman disregarded. On 12 August 2009 he made his debut for the German U-21 national team in the Lobanovskiy Cup in Ukraine against Iran. He saw, however, after an emergency brake in the 44th minute red card. Despite the imposed penalty kick then the game was won 1-0.
