Arthur Boka Etienne ( born April 2, 1983 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian football player.

The defender stands since 2006 with VfB Stuttgart under contract. He is a regular in the national team of his native land and was also used in the FIFA World Cup 2006, the Africa Championships in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and the Football World Cup 2010.

Due to its way of playing Arthur Boka is often referred to as the " African Roberto Carlos ".

Career

Association

Arthur Boka began his career in the Ivorian football school of ASEC Mimosas. In 2002 he moved to Belgium to KSK Beveren and 2004 - initially on loan - to Racing Strasbourg in the first French league.

On 31 August 2006 he moved to the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart. For VfB Stuttgart he played until the end of season 2009/ 10 68 Bundesliga matches and scored one goal. In 2007 he was awarded the German football champions VfB. On 14 January 2009 Boka extended his contract at VfB prematurely until June 2012.
