Sybil Bauer

Sybil Bauer ( born September 18, 1903 in Chicago, † January 31, 1927 ibid ) was an American swimmer.

In the twenties it was the dominant back swimmer and held all the world records in this discipline. At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, she was superior with four seconds ahead of Olympic champion over 100 m backstroke. In her six- year career, she swam 23 world records. She died in 1927 from cancer.

In 1967, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
