Taivassalo

Taivassalo [ ˌ tɑi̯ʋɑs sɑlo ] ( swedish Tövsala ) is a town on the southwest coast of Finland. Taivassalo is located 40 km from Turku in the landscape Varsinais- Suomi. The municipality covers an area of 218 km ², of which 140 km ² is land. To Taivassalo next to the municipality on the mainland are still more than 180 islets. The length of the coastline is over 300 kilometers.

Many of the 1778 inhabitants of Taivassalo commute to work to Turku. In addition, fishing is operated and dismantled granite. In the summer, the population of the municipality quadrupled through the many holiday guests. The Church of Taivassalo was built in the period 1425-1440.
