Tarrenz
Imst is a municipality with 2691 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Imst ( Imst district court ) of the federal state of Tyrol ( Austria ). The name is derived from torrente ( " torrent ").
Today Imst is an agricultural ( with a focus in the sheep ) and commuter community. In recent years, could Imst and its management can boost economic growth and massive beautify the village image significantly. In addition, " Tårrez " (as it is popularly known ) is a traditional, brauchtümliches village with lively club life.

Geography
Imst is near Imst in Gurgltal, at the connection to the remote pass. The village center is way tight fitted in Romansh, is next to the settlement of several hamlets and farms on the valley floor and the higher-lying Obtarrenz.
Nearby is the nature reserve Antel mountain.

Open-air museum
In Imst is an open- air museum, which brings closer the lives of the miners in the 16th century and the processing of the ore to the visitor. 2013 opened an additional exhibition about the discovery of the tomb of a healer.
Customs
The Carnival has the "Witch Village " Tarrenz every four years an important place in the calendar of events. The next carnival will be held in 2017. Another highlight of village life is the " lane party " to invite all clubs each year.
Stark mountain
Significantly influenced the development of Imst has the come with the Swabians to Tyrol knights of Starkenberger that were once influential landowners in the Tyrolean Oberland. In the 12th century the castle was built Altstarkenberg. 1424 went the Starkenberger in a feud with the Prince Frederick of the Empty Pockets under.
