Tasov (Hodonín District)

Tasov ( German Tassow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-east of Veseli nad Moravou and belongs to Okres Hodonín.

Geography

Tasov extends on the right side of the river along the Velička Mlýnský Nahon ( Mühlbach ) in Dolnomoravský úval ( Southern March basin). The village is located at the northwestern foot of the White Carpathian Mountains and is on the edge of the nature reserve White Carpathians. To the north rises the Radošov (244 m ) in the north- east, the Nová hora (326 m ) east of the Dlouhá hora (375 m), the South East Hájová (354 m) and the Vrchy (340 m ) and south of the Výzkum ( 439 m) and Dolni kopec. Northeast of Tasov runs the railway line Nové Mesto nad Váhom - Veseli nad Moravou, the nearest station is Lipov.

Neighboring towns are Milokošť, Ostrožské Předměstí and Chylice in the north, Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem and Louka in the northeast, Lipov the east, Velka nad Veličkou and Hrubá Vrbka the southeast, Malá Vrbka in the south, Kněždub the southwest, Hroznová Lhota in the west and Kozojídky, Zarazice and Veseli nad Moravou in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Tasov took place in 1217 in the deed of gift of the Hungarian King Andrew II of the area of Zaculcza to Thomae, the son of Nitransky Gaugrafen. The village was the outcome of a trade route from the Moravian level to Hungary and was referred to on old maps as Porta Tasi. 1358 acquired Ulman de Welka from Tass Tass de Wit and his nephew Pribik hereditary 16 Huben in Tasov that it connected with his feud Welka. In the second half of the 14th century, the lords of Sternberg bought the goods in Tasov and beat them to their rule Veseli. 1447 sold Zdenko von Sternberg Veseli with all accessories, including the village and the Grange Tasov to Mikuláš of Vojslavice. After recatholicization the brethren church was razed in 1654 Tasov and used as building material for the construction of the Catholic Church in Hroznová Lhota. In 1834 Tasov consisted of 87 houses and 533 inhabitants had. Parish and school location was Hroznová Lhota. Until the mid-19th century Tasov remained subservient always Ostroh.

After the replacement of patrimonial Tasov / Tassow formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Göding and the jurisdiction Strážnice. 1927 took over the railway line Myjava - Veseli nad Moravou on the operation. Between 1949 and 1960 Tasov belonged to Veseli nad Moravou Okres and came back to his resolution to Okres Hodonín. Since 2001, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners showing the local patron St. Wenceslas, the star of the Lords of Sternberg and vines. In Tasov place every year since 1991 in August, the music festival Beseda u bigbítu instead.
