Telegraph Hill, San Francisco

The Telegraph Hill is a hill and neighborhood in San Francisco. It owes its name to a standing since September 1849 here before the introduction of the electric telegraph mechanical signaling device ( semaphore ), a mast with two movable arms, the position of which the residents indicated the type of the incoming ships. The hill, one of 44 in the urban area, is 83 m high.

On the hill to the Coit Tower was built in 1933, a 64 m high tower. From here one has a panoramic view of the city and the bay of San Francisco and the Golden Gate.
