Thai Mueang District

Thai Mueang ( Thai: ท้ายเหมือง ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province Phang Nga in southern Thailand.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Takua Pa, Amphoe Kapong, Amphoe Mueang Phang Nga and Takua Thung Amphoe. To the west lies the Andaman Sea.

Attractions

  • The 72 km ² national park " Khao Lampi - Hat Thai Mueang " was established in 1986. The park consists of two parts, the beach of Thai Mueang, as well as the natural rain forest in the mountains Lampi.
  • The Similan Islands are accessible via the port city of Thap Lamu in Tambon Lam Kaen.

Management

Amphoe Thai Mueang, is divided into six subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 40 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Thai Mueang is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the Tambon Thai Mueang.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
