Thomas Dekker (cyclist)

Thomas Dekker ( born September 6, 1984 Dirk Horn ) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Dekker was considered one of the greatest talents of his generation and of the Dutch cycling in general. He made ​​good time trial results and was well over the mountains. The Dutch league title in the time trial of the elite could Dekker 2004, at the age of 19 years, and win 2005. Beginning of the professional career

On the 6th stage of the Swiss national tour, the Tour de Suisse, he proved once again climbing abilities and decided the mountain top finish for itself.

In August 2008, the contractual obligation was (until 2009) ended prematurely with his employer Rabobank. Since the beginning of the 2009 season he rode in the team Silence-Lotto.

Doping and comeback

In urine follow-ups from the 2007 Thomas Dekker could be converted with erythropoietin ( EPO) on 30 June 2009 after long suspicions of doping. He was immediately removed from the Tour de France squad the team Silence Lotto and suspended. In the spring of 2009, the news magazine Focus Dekker had named as alleged customers of doping dealer Stefan Matschiner.

In early March 2010 it was announced that Thomas Dekker was vested on 1 July 2011. After his suspension Dekker team has been committed by the Chipotle Development.
