Tinjan

Tinjan (Italian Antignana ) is a village in Croatia.

Geography

Geographical Location

It is located 21 km east of Poreč / Parenzo and 12 km west of Pazin, right on the road connecting the Istrian main tourist resort on the west coast and the central administrative center of the peninsula. The place is located directly above the Dragatal that opens out to the Limfjord, located on the coast between Vrsar and Rovinj, drags.

Attractions and Interesting

Center of the old part is the built in 1773 and renovated in 1895 the parish church of St. Simon and Jude Thaddeus. Another special feature is the so-called " Gespantisch " on the edge of the old part is, were taken to the important decisions about business. Josip Voltic, lexicographer and linguist who wrote the first Croatian- German - Italian dictionary, is also a son of this community. A monument near the church also commemorates the Bishop Dr. Juraj Dobrila.
