Tobias Werner

Tobias Werner ( born July 19, 1985 in Gera ) is a German football player who is under contract with FC Augsburg since 2008.

Career

Werner started to play football at TSV 1880 Gera - Zwötzen where he started six years. After that he played in the youth for the first SV Gera and from 1998 for FC Carl Zeiss Jena, whose first men's team he aufrückte the age of 18 in January 2004.

In 2005 he succeeded with the team promotion to the Regionalliga Nord and 2006 to the 2nd Bundesliga. With the announcement of the change in May 2008 for second division FC Augsburg Werner also signed a valid contract until 2010, which was extended on 19 May 2010 and on 12 January 2012 at two years. 2013, the contract was extended for another 3 years, so that he is now independent of the League membership runs until 30 June 2017. With the Augsburg promotion to the Bundesliga he gave on August 6, 2011 (1st Round ) 2-2 draw at home against SC Freiburg his debut in the top German league.
