Alex Manninger
Alexander Manninger ( born June 4, 1977 in Salzburg) is an Austrian footballer who is currently active at the Bundesliga FC Augsburg.
Career
Clubs
Manninger came through the Federal youth development center of Salzburg in the squad of SV Austria Salzburg, where he was under coach Otto Baric third-choice goalkeeper after Otto Konrad and Herbert Ilsanker. To let him play matches, the Salzburg awarded to the goalkeeper for the autumn round of the 1995/96 season to the SK Vorwärts Steyr. In the Upper Austrians he came into the first team to use and recommended, inter alia, in the matches between his next club, Grazer AK.
In 1997 he moved to a rumored transfer fee of 15 million shillings for Arsenal FC in England and was the first Austrian soccer player in the Premier League. He came mainly as a replacement for David Seaman in Cup competitions to missions, but by lengthy injuries Seamans he was also repeatedly over long distances in the championship in use. In his first Premier League season he was given the "Player of the Month " award as well as the first and so far only reserve goalkeeper. His team was one point ahead of Manchester United champions. In August 2001 he joined on loan for a year to the Italian first division club Fiorentina. He moved to his return in July 2002 for Spanish side Espanyol, where he received a four-year contract. A planned lending with Brescia Calcio burst; in August 2003 he was loaned to AC Siena. In July 2005 he returned to his youth club FC Red Bull Salzburg and after another season again for AC Siena back, the permanently tied him to her. In the summer of 2008 Manninger was discharged from Salzburg for about 1.8 million euros to the northern Italian club Udinese Calcio. After the signing of Marco Storari in June 2010 Manninger lost its status as the second goalkeeper behind Buffon and was henceforth only third choice. After his contract at Juventus had expired at the end of the 2011/12 season, he was first out of contract.
On November 21, 2012 Manninger was obliged FC Augsburg as a replacement for the injured Simon Jentzsch. He received a contract until the end of the season. His debut for the FCA he gave on 18 December 2012 at the DFB Cup second round in the 0-2 defeat against Bayern Munich. His last competitive game was set back at this time two years. In the 3-2 win in the away match against Fortuna Dusseldorf on 20 January 2013 ( 18th Round ) Manninger debuted in the Bundesliga.
National
Manninger debuted in 1999 under Otto Barić 0-0 in a test match against Sweden in the selection of the national team. On 13 October 2004 he was injured during the qualification match for the 2006 World Cup against Northern Ireland on the hard shoulder and was sidelined for several months. Only under coach Josef Hickersberger he was again taken into account for a test - International Match. At Euro 2008, he was second behind goalkeeper Jurgen Macho. Under the OFB team coach Karel Brückner Manninger became the first goalkeeper again. On August 5, 2009, he finished his career with the national team in order to focus on his position as reserve goalkeeper for Juventus.

Manninger was the first Austrian football player who was in the Japanese sporting goods manufacturer Mizuno under contract.
