Alex Manninger

Alexander Manninger ( born June 4, 1977 in Salzburg) is an Austrian footballer who is currently active at the Bundesliga FC Augsburg.

Career

Clubs

Manninger came through the Federal youth development center of Salzburg in the squad of SV Austria Salzburg, where he was under coach Otto Baric third-choice goalkeeper after Otto Konrad and Herbert Ilsanker. To let him play matches, the Salzburg awarded to the goalkeeper for the autumn round of the 1995/96 season to the SK Vorwärts Steyr. In the Upper Austrians he came into the first team to use and recommended, inter alia, in the matches between his next club, Grazer AK.

In 1997 he moved to a rumored transfer fee of 15 million shillings for Arsenal FC in England and was the first Austrian soccer player in the Premier League. On November 21, 2012 Manninger was obliged FC Augsburg as a replacement for the injured Simon Jentzsch. He received a contract until the end of the season. His debut for the FCA he gave on 18 December 2012 at the DFB Cup second round in the 0-2 defeat against Bayern Munich. His last competitive game was set back at this time two years. Manninger debuted in 1999 under Otto Barić 0-0 in a test match against Sweden in the selection of the national team.
