Top of the World is the second single from Brandy's second studio album, Never Say Never. The song includes a guest appearance by rapper Ma $ e The song was released as a single in 1998 and reached number two in the UK singles chart, where it was Brandy's second Top 20 single. Top of the World reached # 21 in Canada, eleventh place in New Zealand and number 18 in Ireland. In the United States the song was released only as an airplay single, taking place 44 and 4 of the accompanying pop and R & B airplay charts respectively reached.

Brandy sang Top of the World at the MTV Movie Awards in 1998 with Ma $ e and 1999, the remix version at the Soul Train Music Award along with Fat Joe and Big Pun from the Terror Squad.
