Tõstamaa Parish

Tõstamaa ( German: Testama ) is an Estonian rural municipality in the district of Pärnu with an area of 261 km ². The name was first mentioned in 1553.

In the rural community currently living 1475 inhabitants ( 2010). In addition to the main town Tõstamaa the area includes the villages ( küla ) aluminum küla, Ermistu küla, Kastna küla, Kavaru, Kiraste küla, Kõpu, Lao, Louka, Manija, Männikuste, Pootsi küla, Päraküla, Rammuka küla, Ranniku küla, Seliste, Tõhela küla, tolli küla and Värati küla.

One attraction of the town is the former home of the de Staël -Holstein family, on the estate of the famous orientalist and sinologist Baron Alexander von Staël -Holstein (1877-1937) was born and grew up.
