Toxic (English for " Toxic " ) is a song by American pop singer Britney Spears from her fourth studio album In the Zone. The song was released on January 12, 2004 by Jive Records as the second single from the album. Toxic is a dance-pop song with influences of electropop and bhangra music. Content, it is about to become a lover of hearing. The song was rated positively by critics and named as the best song of the album. Toxic achieved worldwide success among other top-five position in 15 countries. In Australia, Canada, Hungary, Norway and the United Kingdom, the single reached the top position. In the U.S., it was their first single, which was able to place in the top ten for four years.

Background

Toxic was written by Cathy Dennis, Henrik Jonback, Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg and Bloodshy & Avant and produced. The song was originally offered to Kylie Minogue for her album Body Language in 2003. It refused, however, and later commented: "I was not upset that the song brought her success. It's like the fish that got away from the Angel. I have to accept it. "Toxic was included in the Murlyn Studios in Stockholm. In December 2003 it was announced that after Me Against the Music originally either (I Got That ) Boom Boom Outrageous or should be released as the second single from In the Zone, Spears sat down but personally for Toxic one. The song was part of her Onyx Hotel Tour. In 2011 she sang the song during her Femme Fatale Tour. It is also part of her current Las Vegas show Britney: Piece of Me

Music Video

The music video for Toxic shows Spears as a secret agent in search of a vial with a green, poisonous liquid. After she steals this, she enters the apartment of her unfaithful friend and poisoned him. The video also includes scenes in which Spears wears a transparent suit, which is partially set with diamonds. Spears singing Toxic in a series of live performances, including at the NRJ Music Awards in 2004, it was the opening number of her Onyx Hotel Tour in 2004 and was also on her tours The Circus Starring: . Britney Spears (2009) and the Femme Fatale Tour (2011) listed. Toxic has been covered by several artists. By Toxic Spears won her first Grammy Award in 2005 in the category "Best Dance Recording ".

Chart positions

Toxic debuted on 31 January 2004 on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 53 on 27 March 2004, the song peaked at number nine. It was after Oops! ... I Did It Again in 2000 her fourth top ten hit in the U.S.. On 25 October 2004 Toxic was awarded with 500,000 copies sold in gold. Toxic has been legally downloaded 1,537,000 times and has thus become the sixth best-selling digital single in the country. Toxic also reached the top of the Canadian charts. On 15 March 2004, the song debuted on the peak position of the Australian charts and held that position for two weeks. The song received a gold certification by the Australian Recording Industry Association ( ARIA ) for over 35,000 units sold. By March 2013, the song sold, according to Billboard, in the U.S. a total of 1.9 million copies.
