From the Bottom of My Broken Heart (English for " Out of the deepest of my broken heart " ) is the last single from Britney Spears' debut album ... Baby One More Time. It was published in the spring of 2000 as the fourth single from the album in the U.S..

Background

From the Bottom of My Broken Heart was written and produced by Eric Foster White. It is a pop ballad, it is again of Spears first love and she hopes that love would never end. She describes her emotions as "from the depths of her broken heart " (from the bottom of my broken heart ).

Music Video

The director for music video led Gregory Dark. It was shot in late November 1999. At the beginning of the video Spears is planning her departure from her small hometown. Wistful she remembers it back to their time together with their first love. Still at the bus stop she hopes that her lover would personally say goodbye. But that appears only when Spears long sitting on the bus and this has left the city.

Premiered the video on 17 December 1999 on MTV.

Commercial success
