Trevor Gillies

Trevor Gillies ( born January 30, 1979 in Cambridge, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since January 2014 at the Abbotsford Heat in the American Hockey League contract. The attacker is mainly used as enforcer.

Career

Trevor Gillies began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League, where he was active for the North Bay Centennials, Sarnia Sting and Oshawa Generals 1996-1999. In the following years, the winger in the Minor Leagues American Hockey League and ECHL has established, however, played until 2003 never for a long period for a club. Until then, he ran for Lowell Lock Monsters AHL clubs, Worcester IceCats and Providence Bruins, as well as for the ECHL Mississippi Sea Wolves clubs, Greensboro Generals, Augusta Lynx and Richmond Renegades.

Between 2003 and 2005, Gillies ever played one year for the Springfield Falcons and the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL, and then for two years for their league rivals Portland Pirates. During this period he also returned to his debut in the National Hockey League for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, as well as seven appearances for his former club Augusta Lynx in the ECHL. After two seasons with the Albany River Rats in the American Hockey League, the Canadian signed for season 2009/ 10 is initially a contract with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and later in the course of the season with their partners New York Islanders, in 14 games for which he prepared a goal. The 2010/11 season began in Gillies NHL team the Islanders.
