Třinec

Třinec (debate? / I, Trzynietz German, Polish Trzyniec ) is a town in the Moravian- Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. The 306 m in altitude. M at the confluence of Tyra located in the industrial town houses Olsa steel industry and food businesses. Třinec lies on the border with Poland and has in the district of Horni Listna a border crossing to Leszna Gorna.

History

The first written mention dates back to 1444th

Still in the first half of the 19th century it belonged to agrarian places, which belonged to the property of the Habsburgs.

The big turning point came when in 1839 the Trzynietzer ironworks were founded. Rich ore deposits, enough water energy and inexhaustible reserves of timber in the Moravian- Silesian Beskids were present. Therefore, the chamber in Cieszyn was the owner Archduke Charles of Austria -Teschen recommended to build iron works.

The Catholic Church of St. Albert was inaugurated in 1885 and the Protestant church on 9 July 1899.

Industry

Třinec is a major center of the steel industry. In 1839, the Třinecké were founded Zelezarny ( Trzynietzer steel mills ). Significant for the further development of the city was the construction of Košice- Berger railway in 1871 which connected Třinec with important ore deposits in Slovakia and allowed the transport of coal from Karviná. Today, a third of the Czech steel production is made.

For steel mill was during the second world war a forced labor camp, called internment Trinec - Borek, as such recognized by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future. Dresdner Bank was intertwined with it; it granted the IG Katowice, part of the whole so-called " mountain hut group " really "Austrian Mining and Metallurgical Company", Cieszyn OS during the German occupation, a short-term overdraft of 3.3 million Reichsmark and the " mountain lodge Karwin - Trcynietz " how the place has been written by the Germans, a loan of RM 442 275 for the supply of material to the State Railway of Romania.
