Troy Sanders

Troy Sanders ( born September 8, 1973 in Atlanta ) is an American bassist and singer. He is a member of the band Mastodon and played previously with the Social Infestation.

Career

Sanders made ​​his first steps as a bassist, when he tried out the instrument of his brother at the age of 13 years. He tried to act out of the band Kiss song " Lick it Up ". Later, Sanders got its own instrument and played in bands like Knuckle, Four Hour Fogger and Puaka Balava. In the latter band, he played with the guitarist Brent Hinds. In 1995, Sanders joined the grindcore band Social Infestation, with whom he released three studio albums.

In 2000, Sanders and Hinds met at a concert of the band High on Fire in Atlanta musicians Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher. Together with singer Eric Saner, the band Mastodon was founded. After Saner left the band Sanders and Hinds shared the vocals. With Mastodon Sanders released five studio albums and received two nominations for the Grammy Award.

Troy Sanders joined in 2013 the supergroup Killer Be Killed, founded by Soulfly vocalist Max Cavalera and Greg Puciato the singer of the band The Dillinger Escape Plan. The self-titled debut album to appear on May 13, 2014. In addition, he performed for the bands Dozer and Yakuza on guest vocals.

Sanders is married and has two children. His brother Kyle Sanders is also bass player and played in the band Blood Simple, while his other brother Darren Sanders worked as a roadie for Mastodon.
