Turco Municipality

The municipality Turco is a district in the department of Oruro in the highlands of South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Turco is the southern of the two Municipalities of the province of Sajama. It is bordered on the northwest by the municipality of Curahuara de Carangas, on the west by the Republic of Chile, to the south by the Province of Atahuallpa, to the southeast by the province of Litoral, to the east by the province Carangas, and in the north east of the province of San Pedro de Totora.

Geography

The municipality Turco comprises a vast plain north of the Salar de Coipasa, between the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the ridge of the Serranía de Huayllamarca in the east.
