Tvrdošovce

Tvrdošovce ( until 1948 slovak " Tardošked "; Hungarian Tardoskedd ) is a town on the south-western Slovakia with 5180 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in the Danube plain, about 16 km from Nové Zámky and one of the largest non-urban communities in the country.

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1221. In the village live about 5280 inhabitants, of which 71 % Hungarian and 27% Slovak ancestry ( as of 2001).
