Tyresta National Park

The Swedish National Park Tyresta lies south-east of Stockholm in the municipalities of Haninge and Tyresö.

It lies in a glacially formed hills with primeval coniferous forests and stone blocks that are covered with lichens. In the columns of the former Rocky Mountains to sand areas and lakes have formed. In Tyresta National Park about 80 bird species have been recorded, including the capercaillie and various woodpeckers and owls.

1999 fell about ten percent of the national park by fire. This part of the park has a ghostly appearance even after more than ten years.

At the entrance of the national park is an information center that presents all Swedish National Parks. There are also a farm, are held at the Swedish rare breeds of farm animals.
