Vacas Municipality

The municipality Vacas is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia, was established on 15 October 1986. Its inhabitants " Vaqueños " or " Vaqueñas " call themselves.

The municipality Vacas is one of two Municipalities of the Province and Arani is located in the eastern part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the municipality of Arani, to the south by the province Mizque, on the east by the province of Carrasco, and to the north by the province Tiraque.

Geography

The municipality covers an outflow -free high basin and the surrounding mountain ridges in the northwestern part of the Cordillera Oriental. The valley has an altitude of 3420 m and is dominated by three large lakes, the Lagunas (lakes ) Parco Kocha, Acero Khocha and Juntutuyo.
