Vanessa Ferrari

Vanessa Ferrari ( born November 10, 1990 in Orzinuovi (BS ) ) is an Italian gymnast.

Life

Vanessa Ferrari gained their first success at the Junior World Championships in 2004, where she won the silver medal in the all around with a score of 36,525. In addition, she won two bronze medals, one with the team and once on the balance beam with a score of 9.175.

As a junior Ferrari came in to the Youth Olympics in Italy and in the Mediterranean Games in 2005 in Almeria, Spain. There she won the gold medal in all three competitions.

2006 won Italy with Ferrari surprisingly the gold medal in the team competition at the European Championships in Volos, with only one-tenth point lead over the defending champions from Romania. Although not really a multi- fight was fought, was Ferrari's combined score the highest in the competition. Vanessa Ferrari also won the silver medal on floor with 15.450 points, ahead of the Olympic champion Catalina Ponor.

Ferrari won the world title in the all around before Jana Bieger (USA) and Sandra Izbaşa (Romania ) with a combined score of 61 025 in October 2006. These wurdesie third parties on the ground and in the parallels. At the latest after this triumph, she was suddenly known throughout Italy, because never konne an Italian gymnast the all-around at the World Championships to decide for themselves.

At the European Championships 2007 in Amsterdam, she won gold in both the all-around and on the ground. Of course, she also became the first Italian woman ( 2006 was held there in Volos, a team competition ) which officially all-around gold could erturnen at European Championships. At the World Championships in Stuttgart 2007, she was third in the all around.

At the European Championships in Milan in 2009, she won after the British Elizabeth Tweddle the silver medal on floor.

At the European Championships 2012 in Brussels, the sport soldier won the bronze medal in the team competition and placed fourth on the floor. The same placement at the bottom was reached at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London - although it reached the same score in the final as the third place winner.

2013 she won at the World Championships in Antwerp the silver medal on the floor after she was unable to participate due to injury earlier in the European Championships.
