Velesmes - Dessessart is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Velesmes - Dessessart is located at 275 m, about 12 km west-southwest of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The village is located in the gently undulating countryside between the rivers of Doubs in the south and in the north Ognon.

The first written mention of Velesmes dates from 1289 (under the name of Vilema ); of 1385 Velimme is preserved.
