Vermillion is a city in Dakota County in the U.S. state of Minnesota in the Midwestern United States. At the time the United States Census 2010 Vermillion had 419 inhabitants.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.51 km2, 2.49 km2 to 0.02 km2 land and account for water.

The main streets of the town are the Main Street ( County Road 62), Fischer Avenue ( County Road 66) and Goodwin Avenue ( County Road 85). U.S. Highway 52 and Northfield Boulevard are nearby.

The Vermillion River flows through the village. Nearby Hampton, New Trier, Hastings, Rosemount, Coates and Northfield are.

Vermillion is geographically located entirely within the Vermillion Township, but is not part of this.

At the time of the census of 2000, there were 437 people Vermillion. The population density was 168.7 people per km ². There were 161 housing units at an average 62.2 per km ². Of the population, 96.4 % White, 0.2% African American, 0 % Native, 1.4% Asians, and 0% were Pacific Islanders. 0% declared to belong to two or more races and 1.9 reported to be members of other races. Identified themselves as Hispanic or Latino 0.2 % of the population.
