VestAndPage
VestAndPage is founded in 2006 by Verena Stenke and Andrea Pagnes artist duo, which works primarily in performance art and video art.
Life
The Venetians Andrea Pagnes (* November 24, 1962 in Venice) has translated Crichton's Jurassic Park into Italian and has worked as a writer, painter, curator, glass sculptor and artistic director of a Murano glass factory. He studied at the University of Venice, literature and philosophy, as well as museology and art critic at the UIA Venice. In Florence he worked with the group Isole Comprese Teatro in Social Theater. He was awarded the STORIE Literary Award, Rome (2010), Millennium Painting Award, Windsor & Newton (2000); Graphic International, Stockholm (1995); 2 ° Literature Prize of the city of Venice, Venetian Athenaeum (1991); Robert Schuman Silver Medal, Strasbourg (1990 ) and the National Poetry Award Selection, Italy ( 1990).
The German Verena Stenke ( born October 18, 1981 in Bad Frederick Hall ) works as a performance artist and video artist. She was awarded the Culture Prize Nassau, Nassau (2011 ) and the ArtKontakt price, Tirana ( 2007). She lives in Neckarsulm.
Work and projects
VestAndPage develop the concept of spheres ( cf. Peter Sloterdijk's Spheres ), as well as the topics of communication, transformation, fragility and impermanence. On her performance and video works have also the complex backgrounds of the two artists in dance, theater, visual arts and philosophy influence.
Initiated in 2010 the duo a global art initiative called Fragile global performance chain journey, in which over 750 international artists to participate to even carry a glass around the globe and to produce works of art.
The experimental film project sin ∞ fin The Movie, produced in Antarctica, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, Kashmir and northern India, is a spherical investigation and combines performance art with film.
They are initiators and curators of the Venice International Performance Art Week.
