Victoria Cougars (PCHL)

The Victoria Cougars were a Canadian ice hockey franchise in the Western Hockey League from Victoria, British Columbia.

History

The Victoria Cougars were established for the season 1949/50, as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. In Victoria already played from 1922 to 1926 an eponymous team. The most successful season in team history was the season 1950/51, in which the team the Lester Patrick Cup, the championship of PCHL won. After the PCHL was replaced after the season 1951/52, by the Western Hockey League, the Victoria Cougars joined this and remained nine years in the league.

Following the 1960/61 season were the Victoria Cougars to Los Angeles, California, relocated and played from now on as Los Angeles Blades in the WHL.
