Viktor Bushuev

Viktor Georgijewitsch Buschujew (Russian Виктор Георгиевич Бушуев; born May 18, 1933, Balakhna, Gorky Oblast, † 2003) was a Soviet weightlifter.

Career

Viktor Buschujew comes from Gorky A.D. Volga and operating as a boy different sports until he decided on the weight lifting. He began to run at regional championships at featherweight and then grew up in the lightweight ( to 67.5 kg of body weight) into it. In 1956, he first drew attention to himself when he finished third behind former world champion Nikolai Saksonow and Fedor Nikitin at the championships of the Russian Federative Soviet Republic ( RSFSR ) in lightweight 355 kg. A year later, he was employed at the World Championships in Tehran and immediately won the world title at lightweight. The highlight of his career was the Olympic gold medal in Rome in 1960, again at lightweight. Viktor Buschujew was a very balanced and reliable weightlifter who could set a world record in any of the three individual disciplines Press, Snatch and Jerk, but their five in the Olympic triathlon.

After ending his playing career, the trained mechanic worked as a coach.
