Vilajuïga
Vilajuïga is a Catalan municipality in the province of Girona, northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Alt Empordà.
Location
The community is located between the mountain ranges Rodes and Albera at an altitude of 31 meters. Straight through the town leads an access road to a few kilometers away Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes in the Natural Park of Cap de Creus.
Economy
In the community Vilajuïga wine production. The grapes are processed in the local cooperative and marketed under the guarantee of origin Empordà Costa Brava. There is also in place a mineral water source that is already being used commercially since 1904 under the brand name Aigua de Vilajuïga.
