Viorel Năstase

Viorel Năstase ( born October 7, 1953 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player. He played a total of 239 games in the Romanian Divizia A, the German Bundesliga and the Italian Serie A.

Career

The career of Năstase started at Progresul Bucharest, when he came to two inserts in Divizia B during the season 1969/70. At the end of the season he went with his club in the Divizia A, the highest Romanian league, at. In the House of Lords he was able to achieve nine goals in 16 games. Nevertheless, his club was on the end of the season again in the Divizia B.

After the descent of committed local rivals Steaua Bucharest Năstase. The later record champions counted at the beginning of the 1970s, not the top teams in the country and only came to placements in the upper middle. After two seasons as a reserve player he succeeded in the 1973/74 season of the breakthrough: With 19 goals in 31 missions he landed behind Mihai Adam and Dudu Georgescu in third place of the Romanian scoresheet. The season 1975/76 he finished with his first two titles. In addition to the championship, his club was able to prevail also in the Cup final and thus win the Double. However, in this season, he was able to contribute just four hits and thus stood in the shadow of his strike partner Anghel and Marcel Iordănescu Răducanu.

In the following season with Steaua Năstase could not defend both titles and Universitatea Craiova and Dinamo Bucharest was defeated. With 17 goals, he was himself the fourth best scorer in the league. It was the last season as a regular player of Steaua. The Cup 1978, he experienced again as a reserve player with only twelve missions. After he had played only two games in the 1979/80 season, he left the club after nine years. He joined the German Football Bundesliga 1860 Munich. The " lion " he found his way back to its former strength and scored as fellow striker Rudi Voeller of 14 goals in 23 games. However, the club was relegated at the end of the season.

In the summer of 1981 Năstase Germany left again and moved to U.S. Catanzaro in Italy's Serie A. In Calabria, he could not prevail, and came in three years to only a few uses. Also for the club was the time unsuccessful. After relegation from Serie A at the end of the 1982/83 season the club were relegated a year later from the series B.

In the summer of 1984 Năstase finished his active career.

National

Viorel Năstase played two games for the Romanian national team. He debuted on April 18, 1971 against Albania when he came on in the 63rd minute for Florian Dumitrescu. Five years later he came to his second and last mission in the first leg of the finals to the Balkan Cup 1973/76. A goal was not granted to him in both games.
