Vitold Fokin

Witold Pawlowytsch Fokin ( born October 25, 1932 in Nowomykolajiwka ) was from November 1991 to October 8, 1992 Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Witold Fokin was born in 1932 in a family of teachers in the settlement Nowomykolajiwka in the Zaporizhia Oblast. In 1954 he graduated from the Mining Institute in Dnepropetrovsk from. From 1954 to 1963 he worked in the mine Zentralna - Bokiwska in different positions. After that, he served as deputy director in the Combine Donbassantrazyt in Krasny Luch, as a manager in the operating Perwomajskwugillja in Perwomajsk ( Mykolaiv Oblast ), as chief engineer in the Combine Woroschylowgradwugillja in Kadijiwka and as a director in the Combine Swerdlowantrazyt in Sverdlovsk ( Luhansk Oblast ). In 1971 he was sent to the State Planning Commission of the Ukrainian Soviet Republic, in 1972 he rose to become deputy chairman and chairman in 1987. To 14 November 1990 he was a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine and remained afterwards no party affiliation. On October 23, 1990 Fokin took over as acting the business of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine and was confirmed on November 14, 1990 in this office. On October 2, 1992, he resigned from the post of prime minister.
