Vladimir Trusenyov

Vladimir Ivanovich Trussenjow (Russian: Владимир Иванович Трусенёв, English transcription Vladimir Trusenyov, . Born August 3, 1931 in Buinsk, Tatarstan ) is a former Soviet discus thrower, who in 1962 a world record and became European Champion.

Career

In the Soviet Championships in 1956, he was fourth, third in 1957 and 1958 runner-up. His first major international start, he graduated at the European Championships 1958 in Stockholm. With 53.74 meters he finished third, just 18 centimeters behind Poland's Edmund Piątkowski and eight inches behind the Bulgarian Todor Artarski.

1960 Trussenjow fifth in the Soviet championship, but still represented the Soviet Union at the Olympic Games in Rome. After 54.31 meters in qualifying he threw 52.93 meters in the finals and was ranked 15th in 1961, he was fourth at the Soviet Championship in 1961. After a fifth place in the Soviet Cup in 1967 and a sixth place in 1968 ended his career.

Vladimir Trussenjow is 1,90 m tall and weighed 112 kg in his playing days. Besides it was only a discus thrower from the Soviet Union a world record, namely Yuri Dumtschew 1983.
