Võnnu Parish

Võnnu ( German Wendau ) is a rural municipality in the east of the Estonian Tartu County with an area of 229 km ². It has 1218 inhabitants (1 January 2006).

Võnnu located 26 km from Tartu. The church was first mentioned in documents in 1341. In addition to the main town Võnnu ( 624 inhabitants ) belong to the rural community of the villages Agali, Ahunapalu, Hammaste, Imste, Issaku, Kannu, Kurista, Kõnnu, Liispõllu, Lääniste, Rookse and Terikeste.

Võnnu is the starting point of many hiking trails through the coined by Emajögi river, forest and moorland.
