Waldbronn is a municipality in the Alb Valley in the northern Black Forest. The municipality belongs to the district of Karlsruhe in Baden- Württemberg.

Geography

Waldbronn located on the edge of the Alb- Pfinz plateau in the valley of the Alps southeast of Karlsruhe.

History

In the course of municipal reform in Baden- Württemberg Busenbach were on 1 July 1971 and on 1 January 1972 Etzenrot incorporated to Reichenbach. The municipality of Reichenbach was renamed on November 19, 1974 in Waldbronn.

All three districts were first mentioned in records in 1292.

In January 1994, the municipality was Waldbronn the predicate "place of medicinal spring spa " awarded for the districts Busenbach and Reichenbach.

Religions

Waldbronn is predominantly Roman Catholic from time immemorial. Even today there are in each of the three districts a Catholic church. The previous three Catholic parishes in Waldbronn are now part of the pastoral care unit Waldbronn Carlsbad. Pastor Torsten Ret. Mayor

The mayor is directly elected for eight years.

In the mayoral election on March 8, 2009, Franz Masino (SPD ) continued with 56.67 percent of the valid votes cast by with a voter turnout of 67.86 per cent in the first round against his competitors and incumbent Harald Ehrler ( CDU). He took office on May 1, 2009.

The municipal election held on 7 June 2009 had the following result:

Youth council

In November 2010, the eighth forest Bronner youth council was elected.

Community partnerships

Waldbronn maintains partnerships to Esternay, Saint- Gervais Mont- Blanc ( both France), Monmouth (Wales ), Reda (Poland) and Stadtilm ( Thuringia).

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

By Albtalbahn ( S1 ) and in Waldbronn branching off from their railway Busenbach - Ittersbach ( line S11 ) is Waldbronn connected to the rail network of the KVV. In the district Busenbach branches coming from Karlsruhe south of the station on a branch after Ittersbach of the straight leading way to Bad Herrenalb. The branch after Ittersbach is traversed by the line S11, which also serves the forest Bronner Reichenbach district and its park. The line S1 operates the district Etzenrot on the way to Bad Herrenalb.

Within and between the districts operate passenger buses and school buses to neighboring Carlsbad.

Waldbronn has a junction with the A8 motorway. The A5 motorway can be reached very quickly on the cross Karlsruhe.

Education

With the Albert Schweitzer school there Reichenbach district, a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule. The Anne Frank School in Busenbach is a primary and secondary school and in Etzenrot there with the forest school a pure primary school.

There are also four Roman Catholic and two community- owned kindergartens.

In addition to the general education just as a music school located in the village of Reichenbach. The range extends from the early musical education on the recorder, piano, keyboard, guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, drums, violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, accordion, organ, horn and clarinet to singing lessons.   • The most successful club in the municipality is the TV Busenbach whose women's team plays in table tennis Bundesliga and 2005 German team champion. For team included, among others, by the summer of 2009, the German national team Elke Schall.
  • Since October 2003, Waldbronn again has an ice hockey team, the Huskies Waldbronn.
