Wang Yuegu

Wang Yuegu ( born June 10, 1980 in Liaoning (China) ) is a Chinese born Singaporean table tennis player. In 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games for the second time.

Career

Wang Yuegu was born in China. Under the flag of this nation, she performed at the Youth Asian Championships in 1997, where she was first with the Chinese team. In the same year she was Chinese Vice Champion in singles. After an injury they could not find the connection to the tip of China. Therefore, they emigrated to Japan in 2001 and played here in the " Companies League ". Four years later they settled in Singapore and attended the local citizenship. For eight months, she was active in the National Training Centre in Toa Payoh ( Singapore). As of 2005, she launched internationally for Singapore.

Three times they came at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand Finals in a double semi-finals in 2005 with Sun Beibei, Li Jia Wei 2007 and 2011 also with Li Jia Wei. They also reached the semifinals in singles in 2008 and 2011. At the Asian Championships, it was 2007, 2009 and 2012 with the team's runner-up, 2009, she failed in a double with Feng Tianwei only in the last four. Since 2007, she participated in all six World Championships ( until 2012). Here they had their greatest successes with the team that brought 2010 Gold and 2008 and 2012, reached the final. In 2007 she won the doubles with Li Jia Wei bronze.

Because of its world rank in the top 20 Wang Yuegu 2008 qualified for the first time to participate in the Olympic Games. Here she failed in single to Wu Xue (Dominican Republic), in the team competition, she won silver behind China. In 2012, she entitled her world ranking for the Olympic Games. This time she reached the quarter-finals in the individual, with the team they won bronze. After these Olympics she ended her active career as a competitive athlete.

Activities in Germany

2006 Wang Yuegu was committed by the German Bundesliga club TV Busenbach, where she played one season. In 2008 she joined the FSV Kroppach. At the end of the season 2008/ 09 she moved to Austria.
