Warren is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) and the administrative seat of Marshall County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, Warren had 1563 inhabitants.

Warren is located in northwestern Minnesota at 48 ° 11'48 " north latitude and 96 ° 46'22 " west longitude. The city covers an area of 3.73 km ².

History

In 1879, the current urban area was first settled by whites. The construction of a railway line of the former Great Northern Railway (now BNSF Railway) led to the establishment of a permanently populated town, which was incorporated in 1881 as the Village of Warren. The name went back to an employee of the railway company, who had, however, never enter the city. In the same year Warren was also the seat of administration of the Marshall County. In 1882 changed the municipality status in City of Warren.
