Waukesha is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. It lies on the Fox River and is one of 70 718 inhabitants (as of 2010). The city is the seat of administration of the Waukesha County.

In Waukesha is the private Presbyterian Carroll College. It was founded in 1846 and is the oldest college of the State of Wisconsin.

Other educational institutions in the city are the Waukesha County Technical College and the University of Wisconsin Waukesha.
