Wes Newton

Wesley " Wes " Newton ( born August 27, 1977 in Blackpool, Lancashire ) is an English darts player. His nickname is " The Warrior " and his theme song is Crazy crazy nights of KISS.

Career

His PDC debut came at the UK Open in 2004 and 2005 he made his World Cup debut. However, he lost in the first round against Gerry Convery. In the Las Vegas Open 2005 he reached the semifinals, where he lost to Phil Taylor, however. Shortly after the event, he broke his collarbone and returned to the World Grand Prix 2005, but lost in the second round against Colin Lloyd.

When he took part for the second time at the PDC World Championship in 2006, he reached the second round, but lost here against Kevin Painter. In 2007, he lost in the second round against Colin Osborne. Little better it was in 2008, when he clearly lost in the first round against Jamie Caven qualifiers with 0-3.

In the PDC World Darts Championship 2009 was set as number 31 in the first round and beat the Dane Per Laursen 3-1 before losing a lap later against Raymond van Barneveld 1-4. Private

Newton Currently lives in Fleetwood. His younger brother Dale is a professional darts player, just like his father, Colin, who was successful as an amateur player. Together with his partner Stacey he has a son Wesley Fraser, who was born in June 2011.
